The Day of Chechen Language was Celebrated

“April 25” was declared “the day of Chechen Language” by the order of Ramzan Kadyrov in 2007. Since then, this day is a national holiday for Chechen people.

Like the years before, this day was celebrated with festivals and several events. Due to the circular letter of Kadyrov on “the day of Chechen language”, members of the government, parliamentaries and the workers of administrative units in Chechen Republic has to wear traditional Chechen dress during the “April 25”. Ramzan Kadyrov is obey to this rule himself, and he came to the Grozny State Theathre and Concert Hall in traditional clothers and his kinjal.

He arrived to the hall with Adam Delimkhanov, member of State Duma Parliament, in a horse carriage. In front of the hall, they were welcomed by the members of Chechen government and Sahab Mezhidov, a Chechen folk singer. Alltogether they sang songs in Chechen langauge.

In front of the concert hall, Kadyrov played traditional Chechen dances expertly.

In the opening of the event, Kadyrov did a speech and congratulated the holiday of all people. He pointed out that Chechen language is the base of the identity of Chechen people. Kadyrov also stressed the role of family for the love of native language and noted that the state must also work on this issue.

During the event, some awards were given to public figures, scientists and teachers who made a great contribution to the development of the Chechen language. The total awards that were presented $ 100 thousand cash award, four apartments and three cars.
