The Day of ATO’s End: The Day of Peace

The studio of “Grozny-Inform” new agency hosted a round table discussion on the second anniversary of the abolition of anti-terrorism operations (ATO) in Chechen Republic. Dukvakha Abdurakhmanov, head of Chechen Parliament; Nurdi Nukhaziyev, Human Rights Commissioner in Chechen Republic; and Ruslan Alkhanov, the Interior Minister of the republic participated to the programme.

The programme’s moderator was Islam Khatuyev who is the Deputy Head of Media Monitoring Unit within the Ministry of Chechen Republic Foreign Relations, National Policy, Press and Information. During his opening speech, Islam Khatuyev pointed out that Ramzan Kadyrov, head of Chechen Republic, signed a decree about “April 16” and declared these day as “The Day of Peace” of young republic.

The participants of the round table discussion have pointed out that the efforts and successful works of Ramzan Kadyrov is became the reason for the abolition of ATO regime in the republic. They told that after the abolition of these regime on April 16, 2009, the positive development in the republic grow up and Chechen citizens have started to live in a real civilian life.
